Rules and regulations
FIDE rules for active chess apply. 11 rounds shall be played , 25 minutes per game.

Monetary prices will be distributed among eligible players by secondary rating. Pairings are determined by the rules at the FIDE Congress at Puerto Rico. Players without official ratings or tournament rating from previous Chess Classic tournaments are not eligible for winning rating prizes. Cut off date is 14 August of the following years: Senior 1943, Sub 18 1985, Sub 16 1987, Sub 15 1989, Sub 12 1991, Sub 10 1993. Prizes in rating- and special groups will only be awarded, if at least five participants play in the group concerned.

Smoking is strictly forbidden in the playing hall. Mobile phones have to be switched off completely in the playing hall. Players using electronic devices (e.g. Pocket PC) during the game will be expelled from the tournament.
